- Originally opened in 1911 as part of Line 7, Line 7 bis became its own line due to low passenger demand on this branch.
- It is the second shortest line of the Paris Metro, after Line 3 bis.
- The line serves Parc des Buttes Chaumont, known for its bridge designed by Gustave Eiffel and its picturesque pathways.
- Botzaris station offers close access to the La Mouzaïa neighbourhood, known for its quiet streets and houses with small gardens, a charming spot rarely visited by tourists.
- The fusion of Line 7 bis with Line 3 bis is under study, which would allow the reopening of a closed station (Haxo) and the extension of the line to Château-Landon station. This project, initially scheduled for 2030, aims to improve connectivity and service efficiency on these shorter lines of the Paris Metro network.
