Line 3 bis of the Paris Metro
Version: January 2025Line 3 bis is one of the shortest and least used lines of the Paris Metro. With just four stations and a length of 1.3 kilometers, this line operates as a sort of 'mini-line' that was originally part of Line 3 before being separated in 1971.

- Total track length of just 1.3 km (0.8 miles), making it one of the shortest lines in the system.
Historical and Current Curiosities
Some interesting facts about Line 3bis:
- It is the least used line of the Paris Metro, with just over 1.6 million passengers in 2003.
- The line was built during the 1910s as an extension of Line 3, but both were disconnected in 1971, leading to the creation of Line 3bis.
- In 2010, six MF 67 trains, each composed of three carriages, circulated on the line.
- The Gambetta station, which now shares with Line 3, was originally two stations: the old Martin Nadaud station was merged with Gambetta when Line 3 was extended and Line 3bis was developed.
- Porte des Lilas houses one of the so-called "ghost stations", a closed platform of the Paris Metro that is frequently used for filming movies.
